Having just watched The Apprentice this week, I thought I would start a discussion about what the female team achieved during the episode.

What I objected to was the sub standard quality of produce they obtained, I giggled at how brazen they were at getting it, maybe even cringed but they did win.
Is that all that matters?????

Come on women sales people what did you think???

Cool

Well,
I'll be honest, I didn't watch the program due to other commitments but it was all over the news in the morning and asking people to email their thoughts on the whole matter.
I caught a clip of the show and to be frank,I'm glad I missed it.A group of women swaning round a market with melons????? Do me a lemon!!!!!!

No, my name does not represent my sales technique!!!!
Thought I would choose something rather than the norm. After all being in sales is far from being "The Norm"
I'm very professional at what I do and treat my customers with the up most respect. (I am a bit of an animal though!!!!)
I have no doubt that some, not all girls, do use their assets to win business rather than their sales technique. However, being in tele sales my sales technique is all I have to achieve my goals. (The latter is left to the customer’s imagination!!!)

Come on do me an apple!!!!!

I have noticed that a lot of my female co workers have an air of flirtation about them when selling to men over the phone. I say all power to you, if it gets you the sale it gets you the sale!!

Hi there theonlinedirectory,
More people on the forum, yes!!!
I have to agree with you, yes flirting does come into it some times but it all depends what mood the other person is in. Being in sales you have to read situations rather quickly and realise what you can and can't get away with.(Some people just don't know the word tact !!!!)
Being very money minded does help and that feeling of the order back in your hand is amazing.

WE NEED MORE PEEPS TO GET SOME REAL DEBATES GOING, COME ON YOU LOT SPARE A FEW MINS AND GIVE US YOUR THOUGHTS.

:P

My god you are right on there!! Speaking for online advertising sales I think the job is definitely getting harder, however we are almost in a position where we have reached the peak and can start coming backdown the hill again. A lot of online ventures know the mistakes of the past and are creating some seriously excellent products. Then its just a case of giving away a few freebies to people to prove it works, then showing people who might pay for the service the following proof!

Did you see it this week , I knew that blonde curly one would be right she just goes about things the wrong.
She getting too emotional and it comes across as sulky when she does'nt get her own way.

When she objects to an idea she just looks like she is being difficult, she should have tried to adapt the others idea perhaps suggesting babies and kittens!!

I couldn't have any respect for her. She just acts like a psycho half the time. I think having an excellent business brain gets you so far, but you need to have the respect of your colleagues if a business is going to pull together.

With online advertising there are so many boards out there now that companies and agencies alike are getting bombarded every day by the sales calls. This is a real challenge for all us out there. What makes us different from the last one that called????!!!
When I first started in this field seven years ago, not that many boards were around and life on the sales trail was a little easier. Then, the floodgates opened and everyone and everything came pouring out.Not a bad thing, healthy competition in and any area is good. : h34r:

I don't think there is such a thing as a freebie................the time, effort and care needed these day to use online sites is costly. To give something away may mean that your not prepared look after it??? Give something a value then you spend time to make sure it looks right and works????? I'm not suggesting that all who use sites do this but time is money and unless you get the rewards you just don't take care. Vitious circle!!
The nice thing about online advertising is the flexibility that you have to alter, change and re-post things.

What do you look for quality or quantity???????????????
