What amazes me are the number of times that sales people miss opportunities through lack of qualification, process and awareness.
Trying to get help for free is almost impossible because the ISMM and the IPS which are part of the CIM are only interested in generating revenue through training under the guise of "professional qualification" Other US based businesses that offer newsletters such as Salesdog are OK but tend to be a bit US centric and again are there to promote US based training courses.
I recently joined salesclubuk.com which is free to join (initially they wanted to charge £50 but I don't think they had that many takers) This site seems to be the only one that is aimed at smartening the act of sales professionals without any obligation to sign up for training/education programmes etc.
I am always looking at trying to improve my act and if I can do it for free then in my opinion I'm doing OK.
I hope my competitors continue to lose business through lack of personal sales skills investment.
