Thumbs up

I have been with my employer since January. They haven't issued any commission reports. It is a start up company and unfortunately the comp plan is based on a team goal. 80% of the number as a team or no one gets commission. I was told in the past commission statements are not needed if we do not make our number. (Not acceptable answer) I have been hitting my targets but not eligible for the commission. Recently we have hit our goals and I have been blowing mine out, but I still haven't seen a statement or a check.

I have been in sales for a long time and I know that in any organization driven by sales there has to be monthly reporting/statements even if I am not eligible for commissions and I keep stating to them this is imperative not only to get my money, but to know where I stand and cross reference.

My main question is what recourse do I have? I have a feeling that they are not going to pay anyone here commissions and are trying to drive out anyone that is seeking to get paid. I think they would rather have someone work for 6 months get frustrated and leave, then start over. I am over a barrel. What can I DO? I have asked everyweek for months. Please if any has any feedback on this issue it would be much appreciated.

To be honest I think you should have understood how you would be measured which normally includes hitting a target and the relevant commission plan and reporting that goes with it, at the interview or after you received the offer.

Your note suggests that you have no alternative but to find another job, but be smart and don't tell anyone that you are doing so as it would be good to make things difficult for them when you leave.

And if you can recommend any of your hard working/professional current colleagues to your new employer, this would add to your current employers woes.

Revenge is a dish best served cold!

I'm confident that you will address commision plans/reporting at interview/offer stage with any future employer.
