Default Tips for Direct Sales/At Home Parties

In January I became a representative for a company where giving at home parties is the primary method of selling product. Anybody else in the at home party business? People seem to have fun at the parties and are buying product, but I am having trouble booking more parties. Any tips or suggestions?

I used to do home parties for the Body Shop and as many have said its your personality that can do more of the talking, when you are at the party you need to really shine and see that you are welcoming, friendly and fun - then you people will want to book with you, its not just about the selling its about creating an atmosphere.

Good luck

I should be doing some Avon parties but I've never managed to book even one. Most of my sales are through acquaintances. I would love to attempt a party sometime but it just hasn't happened yet. I'm a beauty advisor with Avon so I could actually have a makeup party where they get to try various makeup products.

My wife has hosted a party where home accents were sold. This was a few years ago, but she did well and I remember it sounding like a very relaxed atmosphere with snacks and drinks.

I'm sure there were also lower priced items that people could buy without putting out a lot of money.

For your first party, just stick to inviting relatives and friends, that way you can test the waters, and ask for some good feedback, and maybe come away from the experience with a little more knowledge, ideas and confidence.

Good Luck.

I would pop an advert in the local paper and stick cards up in local shop windows to promote your parties at a low cost. Also make sure you get referrals from people that attend your parties. Can't beat recommendation

I agree, recommendations are the best way to get along in business, best of all its free!!

When someone accepts your invitation to a party, tell them to bring a friend or two along with them, generating new interest in your products.
