Default compensation

i am trying figure out how best to compensate my employees. please share with me your experiences and pay formulas. how do i pay on commission and base salary?

Always difficult this one. Some say high basics with nominal bonuses,
others are pro the commission only route (a dying breed thankfully).
Personally I believe in paying a reasonable basic but incentivised with high commission.
It seems to do the trick.
As to what your basic should be I would need to know a lot more about what you do to advise.

Hi Roger,
My feelings are that the salary should be enough to keep your employee's creditors from taking his house, but if he wants a new car he'll have to sell strong.

In the beginning of training for about a month there should be a salary,then commission only with high commissions for top performance.The best salespeople I know will only work on commission.Those that are comfotable with a salary,are usually comfortable.
