I am thinking of moving abroad permanantly, somewhere like Prague.
Since this is now part of the EU is it pretty easy to just get up and go?
Anyone had any experience?

I have moved form the UK to Spain, and my husband and I have started up our own business, it ca be pretty tough going at times, you work harder, longer hours for less money, and stress levels at the moments are through the roof.

I dont want to put you off, its one of those things in life that if you really want to do then you should give it a good go, 12 months at least, and most importantly be prepared to learn a new language and to integrate with the locals, it really does make all the difference in the quality of life.

All in all it is pretty easy to get up and go, just make sure you get some good advice before you go about becoming a resident, here if you work or live here for more than 3 months then you must become a resident and have a social security number so you can pay taxes on property you may buy or any income you may obtain while in that country.

Every EU country works differently.

Let us know how you get on and good luck.

Go on make the move. The UK is sinking and things are not going to get better. Me - I am going to Spain to live in 2 years. This country has had it. We are taxed up to the hilt and monitored more than any other country even Russia. Wherever you go it will be better than the UK.

Visted Prague many times. Good location as fairly easy to get to, cheap flights. Everyone speaks English. Not sure how I would do with living there..

Nice if you can get an English company to pay you to work from Prague (on English wages) then thats ideal... very cheap to live over there (although getting more expensive by the day beacuse of joining the EU)
