Oil and gas prices ?

Oil and gas prices had nearly increased to twice the amount when compared with previous year.I think we should have a controlled cartel to maintain oil and gas prices, because everyone needs oil and gas and the rise in prices are affecting the economy very badly.

Unfortunately its the Arab states deciding how much oil to produce that causes this through OPEC.

Perhaps more political pressure on them would help - but it could also hinder as the region is already unstable.

However I do think that the link between natural gas (not petrol) and oil should be looked at however.

In the UK, there is an abundance of natural gas but heating costs have gone up 30% in the last year. Why? beacuse someone somewhere ages ago when oil and gas were competing fuels for industry decided that it should be linked to the cost of oil.......??? why though???

you will find that anything about energy is a rip-off. when oil prices go down (and they have been) the costs are never passed onto the consumer. the government are thieving again with taxes and levys on all fuel. they don't do anything to help the people who pay their wages ie: us!!! :( pah!
