Problem with the IT industry in the UK is companies are realising how cheap it is to outsource programmers from India and other such countries, leaving a lot of talented local programmers without any work, or being severely underpaid!

I don't think the IT sector is fizzling. Where I am there is a lot of intelligent IT professionals coming out of school and or professional positions

I don't think that the IT industry can die. It may have its ups and downs.There is always an opportunity for IT professionals, the problem is that the environment is not suitable for IT professionals.
