Default Recruitment

I have been working in the Sales industry (specificlly IT Sales) and have always wanted to get in to recruitment.
Has anyone had any experience transferring to recruitment from sales?
Any good online sources?
Thanks a lot

I think the move from sales to recruitment isnt too big of a step.

You are still selling.

Selling your competence to the client to get the jobs on board first of all...
Selling the candidates to the clients...
Selling the job and client to the candidates...

Of course getting a job in the sector may or may not be easy in itself.

Thanks for the reply, I think it's time for a change very soon. Although I wish I made it before January as this time of years seems to be the busiest for recruitment agencies

Default Recrutment

I have been in the sales recruitment industry for 15 years and would not recommend anyone getting into it now. Sales jobboards that sell their cv database to corporates (not salesvacancies.com I hasten to add) are killing the industry since employers can now sift throught the same data as the agencies. Why pay a fee when you can do it yourself? If I were you I would look at another career.

Hi,

I had gone through all the problems which you had experienced in sales jobs, don't be afraid and worried about the other career be confident and have a look on the career consultants that would help in career management. I can suggest a website which is providing the services for the people who are wishing for career change i,e http://www.career-wise.com.au/ many had good results from this site.

I worked in recruitment for 5 years before moving on, it was a fantastic experience. If you are already in sales then the transition will not be that big a deal. The best way to go about it is to get in touch with the recruitment agencies direct to see if they are recruiting or if they have any recruitment seminars coming up that you could attend. We did lots of those when we were looking for new staff.

I think sales to recruitment is a great transition. I agree, you are still in a sense, selling something.
