When to go to sales Conferences?

There is a sales manager training conference in Los Angeles, CA. I live in FL. Is it a good idea to go, is it worth the time basiclly is my question, I know the content will be good just not sure if I should look for one out here or go over to the one in LA.
How far would you travel to go to a sales conference?

Personally I think these conferences are over rated. Most of it is common sence and you can pick up alot of the good stuff from researching in the right sales training books.
