Default Use of Your Photo?

I was wondering how many people here use their photos on their business cards or other promotional items like newsletters?

I've seen some real estate agents, etc. with their photos on their vehicles, and in one case, an agent's image was on a garbage and recycle container.

No, I certainly do not!! The only place we use photos are in newspaper / magazine advertising, though they are not of us but of our products. I do agree though, I have seen huge billboards for property agents with their faces plastered all over it, but never busines cards.

I think it would be quite expensive to add a decent image to a business card, and if you are forever having staff coming and going, It wouldnt really be a good idea or would it?

I suppose that the price has come down in the last few years for printing photos on business cards.

I think most photos I've seen on cards have been just of the one person, as opposed to a whole staff.

I don't use my photo on my business cards or my brochures. I do use it on my website though. I've been told many times that I look friendly and honest so I thought that might help customers or readers stay on my site and perhaps even return.

I'm in the recruitment business and more people are putting photos on their cv. You would not believe the shots. If I were putting my photo on a cv I would put on a business suit and look the part. No - i've had cvs with glamour shots and tracky bottoms and even pictures with a favourite pet. OK I suppose if they want a job at crufts. For me you do not need a photo to be remembered just do a good job and deliver what you say you will and you will be remembered

I remember that from my recruitment days too. Some peole just did not photograph well. Of course it would make sense to look professional and smary on a CV photograph, and just like you recman1, I have seen some that are far from it!

I think photos can be helpful on business cards. I'm amazed at how many people don't invest in a decent photographer for these photos, though. My opinion is: if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Don't let your business card be like one of those in the stack I'm looking at right now where they took a snapshot of the person standing in front of a white wall and the lighting is terrible and the whole photo is terrible.

I personally don't like people's pictures to be on things. Customers will judge whether they mean to or not. If you are good looking, it could be an advantage, but i don't think you need it.
