Default Sales Targets

Have you ever found that your sales targets are completely unachieveable? Or do you look upon this as a challenge, and grab the bull by the horns, so to speak!

I personally set realistic tgts for my people. If you want to demotivate someone quickly set them a target they cannot reach or penalise your successful people by upping their tgts each year based on what they have produced. If someone is over achieving providing the tgts are realistic they should be incentivised to do even better. The way I look at it the OTE is a minimum performance expectation. The real money should kick in once someone over achieves

I am glad to hear about your stratergy when it comes to your staff targets. I do think people do better when they see that they can achieve there goals. They certainly feel more enthusiastic and develop a better sense of self belief too, which in turn will encourage a better overall performance.
